One year after the cozy witch-life sim Witchbrook was delayed from 2025 to 2026, it's happened again, as the game is now slated to come out in 2027.
The good news is that unlike that previous delay, this one comes with a solid release date, and it's not too far off: The game is now slated to come out on January 28, 2027.
"We have poured detail and care into every pixel, to create a truly handcrafted experience. We canât wait to open Witchbrook Collegeâs grand doors to new students in January, and introduce you to the town and people of Mossport," developer Chucklefish and Robotality wrote in today's launch date announcement.
"Thank you for all of your support and patience, especially within the last year, while we took the additional time to make a game weâre truly proud of. We hope youâll enjoy immersing yourself in our magical pixel art world as much as weâve enjoyed making it."
It's been a long road for Witchbrook, which we first covered back in 2017, before it even had a title: Chucklefish merely teased it as "something like Stardew Valley meets Harry Potter." In 2020, Chucklefish unveiled a dramatically overhauled visual style, and five years after that we finally got a release window, which didn't really work out. A year and a half after that, here we are, with fingers crossed that this new dateâthe first time Witchbrook has had a proper release date, to be clearâholds up.
Witchbrook will go for $25 on Steam, and Chucklefish is also working on physical editions, which will be revealed and released at some point after the initial launch.
