Warcraft 3: Reforged Is Treating a Classic RTS the Way More Remakes Should

When it comes to Warcraft 3: Reforged and the brand-new Forsaken Kingdom campaign that shadow-dropped during BlizzCon 2026, I'd like to think my youth and relative newcomer status give me the distance to be objective. I was less than a year old when the original Warcraft 3 was released, so my real connection to Azeroth came from my love for World of Warcraft, which I found more than 20 years later. I've had the chance to play it these days, and I believe I understand how historically bulletproof Warcraft 3's legacy is, but I've still only ever lived in the wake of the RTS series; I have very little emotional connection to just how thoroughly Warcraft 3: Reforged failed to honor it in 2020.
