Rainbow Six Mobile is closing down, Ubisoft has announced.

A statement from the game team say the game’s next season will launch next week as planned and be available until January 15 2027, after which it will be closed.

AppMagic estimates suggest the game has earned about $5.3m in IAP revenue from 13.1m downloads during its lifetime, which includes and extended soft launch that began in 2023.

Rainbow Six Mobile was first announced in April 2022. Ubisoft told us back then that the game had been in development for three years – by the time the game launched, Ubisoft has been working on the title for seven years.

In the same article, the firm also told us that 11 different Ubisoft studios had worked on the game, plus mobile shooter specialist Tencent. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Ubisoft studios including Winnipeg, Quebec, Halifax, Paris, Bucharest, Kyiv, Redlynx, Pune, Chengdu and Shanghai.

In a message to players confirming the game’s shutdown, Ubisoft said: “Since Soft Launch in 2023, you have helped us shape this game and build this vibrant community of players from around the world through 15 seasons.”

“Bringing the Rainbow Six experience to mobile has been an exciting journey, and we are proud of the passion, creativity, and dedication our team has put into the game.”
