Whereas asymmetric multiplayer games are not unheard of, asymmetric co-op games are genuinely rarer. What that means is that, while player A is completing one task, player B is completing something else entirely, but they are reliant on each other. Traditional co-op games like Split Fiction have parallel tasks; asymmetric co-op games have drastically different tasks.
