The headset costs $99.99, £89.99 or â¬99.99, and Â¥15,980 in Japan, according to tbreak. Both outlets trace the details to an update on the PlayStation Blog.
Pre-order times and launch markets
Pre-orders start at 10AM local time on 29 October through PlayStation Direct where it operates, and through participating retailers.
US buyers get an earlier slot of 7AM PT on direct.playstation.com. Sony has not named any retailers, tbreak noted.
The post was written by Joe Bentley, Vice President of Engineering at Sony Interactive Entertainment, and updated on 21 October.
It lists the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK, Israel, Ukraine and most of Western and Northern Europe as launch markets.
Everywhere else will get a date later, with no timeline or pricing given.
That leaves out the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, tbreak pointed out. Readers there will have to wait for a regional listing.
What the headset does
Pulse is an update of the Pulse Elite headset Sony released in 2024.
Its planar magnetic drivers (thin, flat driver elements) are larger than the Elite's, which Sony says gives fuller, deeper bass while keeping the earlier model's clean sound.
The headset connects through PlayStation Link, Sony's wireless audio standard, which carries lossless, low-latency sound.
It works with PS5 consoles and PlayStation Portal, and tbreak reports it also switches to a PC or Mac. It can stay paired with a Bluetooth device at the same time.
The built-in microphone uses AI-enhanced noise rejection for voice chat. A USB-C PlayStation Link adapter comes in the box, tbreak said.
Colour options are White and Midnight Black, and pre-orders for both open on the same dates.
Pulse Edge follows in 2027
Sony is also preparing a higher-end model, the Pulse Edge, which has a detachable boom microphone and more accurate planar drivers.
It arrives in 2027 and is expected to cost considerably more than the standard Pulse, Push Square said. Sony has not yet published a price for it.
