Monster Hunter Wilds has some major foundational issues, and cutting its price this long after launch won't fix them. As the game approached release in February 2025, it was one of my most anticipated titles in some time. I've been an enormous fan of the series since Monster Hunter Tri, one of many much-loved Wii classics, and the idea of an open-world (semi open-world might be more accurate) entry had me so excited. Despite its successful launch, though, things went sour in quite a big way for Monster Hunter Wilds, to many fans' great disappointment.
