Sega: Rovio CEO Alexandre Pelletier-Normand has been appointed COO of SEGA Europe’s West Studios, as well as continuing Pelletier-Normand will continue as Rovio’s CEO. The move means the two entities will now “collaborate more closely”, said Rovio on LinkedIn.
Scopely: Miguel Estepa Polonio has stepped up to the role of senior manager in data analytics, having previously worked as a data analyst and community senior data analyst.
Supercell: Sven Schmid has joined Supercell after six years with StarBerry Games. He’ll be working on the Clash of Clan maker’s Asylum program, which appears to be an experimental new game group.
King: Stewart Allen has been appointed UX research manager at King, part of Microsoft Gaming, where they’ll be leading the UX research function for the Candy Crush Soda team. Before that, Allen was a guest lecturer at Irish university Maynooth University and UX research manager at Ocado Tech.
King has also promoted Brian Burford, who has joined King’s senior leadership team as the new general manager of King’s portfolio games. Burford previously worked as GM of Candy Crush Soda Saga and VP and head of IAP and economy on Candy Crush Saga.
Kwalee: After a year as its chief information officer, Kwalee has promoted John Kattenhorn to chief technology officer. Kattenhorn says the appointment “is recognition that we’re transforming the company,” and “putting technology at the centre of how we understand, build, and publish games.”
Raptor PR: Specialist B2B comms agency Raptor PR has appointed Ruzbeh Gazdar as account director and Sophia Hollis as senior account executive, who join from GingerMay and Zeno London respectively.
Poki: Darrell Stephenson joins Poki from Delivery Hero. He brings product leadership experience across consumer technology, marketplaces and digital entertainment.
Lockwood: Jade How has been promoted to head of commercial at Lockwood Publishing to support Avakin Life, where she “sits at the intersection of gaming, fashion, self-expression, and social experiences.”
AppLovin: After three years as a member of technical staff, Xiaochuan (Giovanni) Ge has been appointed chief technology officer at AppLovin. Before that, Ge was an engineer at Facebook and Uber.
Appcharge: Tslil Shraiber has joined Appcharge as its new talent acquisition partner.
Rollic: Mert C. Meral has left SuperDuck Games to join Rollic as its new game manager.
Everplay: Bringing 25 years’ experience across media, publishing, and games at EA and Codemasters, Jon Rissik joins Everplay as its chief growth officer.
Loop Games: Çağatay Abaci has been promoted to head of product at Loop Games. Before that, he worked as a senior product manager.
Dream Games: Having previously worked at Dream as a product intern, Nida Atici has been appointed as a product specialist.
Ace Games: After founding Vida Games, Fatih Can Temel has joined Ace Games as its new head of hybrid casual studio.
