ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Creator Just Revealed His Next Game and It Looks Incredible

A new game from Fumito Ueda, the creator of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, has been officially titled Gen Atlas. Previously introduced as Project: Robot, Gen Atlas' new trailer was unveiled during Summer Game Fest 2026, offering a glimpse of its world and characters. Beyond the mystery-driven universe that is often considered Ueda's signature style, Gen Atlas also appears to introduce a new gameplay mechanic never seen in any of his previous games, which include ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian.
