House of the Dragon Season 3 Could Finally Top the Red Wedding

Since its release in 2022, House of the Dragonviewers have been left wondering if the prequel series will ever match the scale and spectacle of Game of Thrones, particularly the Red Wedding. It has already taken the show two slow seasons for the answer to seem like a yes. Based on George R. R. Martin's Fire and Blood, HBO's prequel delves into the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, a brutal, continent-spanning conflict that pits two factions of House Targaryen, "The Blacks" and "The Greens," against each other for control of the Iron Throne after King Viserys I's death.
