Michael quickly became one of the most iconic villains in the horror genre, thanks to his horrifying mask and complete lack of conscience. Michael survived several gunshots and a stumble off a roof, returning to kill again in 1981's Halloween 2. The sequel's ending left Michael's fate much less ambiguous, as the villain seemingly died in a fiery explosion alongside doctor Samuel Loomis.
