FISSURE chief executive Nikolay Vesnin says the tournament organiser has repaid around half of what it owes from Counter-Strike 2 events, HLTV reported.

The next major round of payments is planned for the first quarter of 2027.

Vesnin set out the position in an open letter on FISSURE's website (fissure.pro). It covers the reasons for the company's financial trouble, its repayment steps and its plans for future tournaments.

The organiser will keep staging events on the CS2 circuit while it pays down the balance.

Payments since the summer

Vesnin said in the letter, as reported by HLTV, that "around half of our CS2 debt has already been paid". Payments have been underway since the summer, HLTV reported. The debt is acknowledged in full.

Dust2 reported that the letter opens by admitting FISSURE still owes prize money from both its CS2 and Dota 2 tournaments. The half-paid figure applies to the CS2 debt specifically.

FISSURE is in contact with the affected clubs, according to HLTV. The letter says the organiser will agree a repayment schedule with each club individually.

Why the tournaments continue

Vesnin argued against pausing operations. Dust2 reported that the letter describes tournaments as the way FISSURE earns the money it needs to meet its obligations.

Halting them now, it says, would significantly limit its ability to repay.

The letter also describes a change in how new events are funded.

Vesnin wrote that "the prize pools for new tournaments are now secured before the events begin and do not depend on the company's current finances", he told HLTV.

For teams, that means prize money for upcoming FISSURE events is meant to be set aside in advance. Old debts are handled separately, through the repayment schedules.

Thirteen years and a promise on future events

Vesnin said FISSURE will not abandon thirteen years of work because of its mistakes, per HLTV. The company says it is correcting those errors and drawing lessons from them.

The letter closes with a pledge to keep producing tournaments that its team, players and viewers can be proud of.

It also says FISSURE is building a company that can keep delivering those events for many years. The letter gives no total debt figure and does not name which clubs are still waiting to be paid.
