Atari and Hipster Whale have announced that the latest Crossy Road game is launching as an Apple Arcade exclusive on November 5.
Crossy Road Rush is described as an âarcade-action platforming runnerâ and can be played by up to four players around a single device or online.
The single player adventure mode has 50 stages and thereâs a survival mode as well as a host of unlockables.
Atari acquired Hipster Whale in a deal worth an initial $29.3m in June. $3.3m of that fee will be paid in Atari shares, the companies said at the time, and earnouts over the next three years will bring the price up another $10m if Hipster Whale hits its targets.
Shortly after the acquisition we spoke to Hipster Whale cofounder Matt Hall about the deal, who revealed the Australian developer has turned away suitors for years until Atari made its approach at Gamescom 2025. Hall also suggested that the mobile studio could now bring back a host of retro classics from Atari’s catalogue, including Pong, Breakout, Centipede and Missile Command.
A quick peek at the Arcade tab also tells us that there are two more titles being added to the line-up on November 5: State of Playâs chill colour puzzler Kami 2 and Food Stylist from Zeste, both reworked editions of the existing App Store games with the ads and IAPs removed.
