Hajin, the new Battle Royale map, is the first in Call of Duty: Warzone set on the Korean Peninsula. Zodiac, a compact Resurgence map, is built around a drone factory in South Korea.
Two new maps, two returning ones
Hajin spans North and South Korea across 13 major points of interest. Hajin City has towering buildings and fortified roads, while Imjin Farmland is open ground suited to long-range fights.
North of the border are the 14th Political Prison, Chang-san Air Base and Deadtown.
Weather varies from clear skies to fog, wind and rain, and the map has two Gulag variants where eliminated players fight 1v1 to redeploy.
Zodiac centres on the DRC Advanced Systems drone assembly and manufacturing headquarters and has ten points of interest, including Admin, Trackline and Furnace.
Trains cross a double railway at Trackline, and underground tunnels let squads move beneath the factory. Beenox developed it with Infinity Ward.
Verdansk and Rebirth Island both return later in the season.
New gear and mechanics
The Zipline Launcher is a Field Upgrade that fires anchors and creates a zipline the whole squad can use, enemies included. Players can fire a pistol while riding it.
The Grabber Drone can lift loot, fuel barrels and downed teammates, though its battery is limited.
Weapon Augments are available from the Fly Buy Buy Stations after drones cross the map.
The three at launch are CQC, Marksman and Handling, each improving a different set of aim, recoil and reload traits for that match.
Three Elite Perks, Athleticism, Phantom and Fieldcraft, can be found during matches and add a fourth Perk slot.
Tactical Sprint no longer needs a Perk, though its duration is slightly shorter. Players can also drag allies while reviving them.
Progression and legacy weapons
Player Level resets at launch, with optional Prestige shared across Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone.
All 33 Modern Warfare 4 launch weapons are available, each with Weapon Prestige and Warzone Mastery Camos.
Weapons from Modern Warfare II through Black Ops 7 sit in a Legacy tab.
They cannot be edited in Gunsmith and do not support Mastery Camos, Reticle Challenges, Weapon Customization, Cosmetic Gunsmithing or Build Codes.
Each legacy base weapon comes with five attachments, and legacy Blueprints start locked and unlock through Player XP in the Armory.
The Call of Duty blog adds that Warzone also launches on Nintendo Switch 2 with Season 1.
Launch modes and mid-season additions
Battle Royale runs on Hajin and Verdansk, and Resurgence runs on Zodiac and Rebirth Island, each with a Casual variant. Three limited-time modes arrive at launch.
- Rally Point is a no-circle, drop-in Zodiac training ground for up to 20 players, with an exclusive Blueprint and two camos.
- Massive Resurgence puts 120 players on Hajin.
- Loaded Resurgence holds 44 players on Zodiac or Rebirth Island, with players deploying with their chosen Loadout.
Extreme Resurgence and Rockets and Snipers arrive in the Mid-Season.
