Here are last month’s top grossing mobile games based on in-app purchase earnings, according to Appmagic data.

These IAP estimates do not include ad revenue, web shop spend, Apple and Google’s 30% cut or revenue from China’s Android ecosystem.

There’s commentary on which way the biggest earners are trending, and other interesting tidbits from the top 20 and beyond below.

In between these monthly updates, you can keep tabs on Appmagic’s top grossing and top downloads charts anytime here.

Honor of Kings is back earning over $150m a month after a wobble in June, and is once again way ahead of the chasing pack which is led by Gossip Harbor for the first time.

AppMagic’s estimates suggest Microfun’s merge puzzler pulled in over $112m in IAP revenue last month, its best-ever performance, even after its steady growth dipped a little from April to June.

All of the top five earners in August broke the $100m barrier in August, with PUBG Mobile and Royal Match growing a little month-on-month to leapfrog Roblox, which dipped slightly.

In sixth spot, Whiteout Survival has now declined for the fifth month running, dropping steadily from March’s IAP earnings of nearly $115m to about $97m last month.

Scopely’s Monopoly Go had its best month of IAP revenue since January, though it’s still way down on the $110-130m it was pulling in the latter half of 2025. As ever, though, August’s IAP total of $95m doesn’t include all the players going through the game’s webshop.

Candy Crush Saga is recovering from a sudden dip in IAP revenue in June; King’s flagship puzzler earned about $86m from IAPs last month, but that’s down from the $95m-ish it was earning for most of the first half of 2026.

Century’s other hit game Kingshot is remarkably steady, and has posted IAP earnings of just under $80m for the third month running. The revenue graph for Konami’s eFootball is very spiky, though. It’s down to $58m for August after posting a record $69m the previous month, when it was the biggest beneficiary of World Cup fever.

August’s top grossing mobile games: 11-20

11. LastWar (Funfly): $56.7m
12. Delta Force (Tencent): $51.1m
13. Coin Master (Moon Active): $50.3m
14. Pokémon Go (Scopely Explore): $50.2m
15. Township (Playrix): $42.6m
16. Fate/Grand Order (Aniplex): $40.4m
17. Gardenscapes (Playrix): $40.3m
18. Royal Kingdom (Dream): $38.9m
19. Free Fire Max (Garena): $38.3m
20. Valorant Mobile (Tencent): $37.6m

LastWar’s remarkable fall from the top earners bracket continued last month – the nearly $57m earned last month from IAPs is its worst performance since February 2024, back when it was still new and scaling up. That’s quite a drop from the $130-150m is was earning every month from September 2024 through to march this year.

Delta Force broke the $50m barrier again last month, while Coin Master’s gentle decline continues.

After its 10th anniversary celebrations in July, Pokémon Go’s IAP earnings effectively halved for August and are back down to a more typical $50m-ish.

Japanese players suddenly started spending big again in longtime top grosser Fate/Grand Order, pushing it up 31 places month on month to hit 16th spot. And as we noted in data digest last week, Tencent’s China-only version of Valorant is dong really well; it pulled in nearly $38m last month from iOS players in China alone.

Outside the top 20, Pokémon TCG Pocket leapt up the rankings by 12 places, hitting nearly $30m in IAP revenue last month, while QualiArts’ Hololive Dreams continues to gather pace, up 14 places to hit nearly $29m in IAP revenue for August.

And after a revival of sorts last month, Hoyoverse’s trio of titles have all dropped in the rankings. Both Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail are down eight spots having earned around $24m and $23m respectively last month. Zenless Zone Zero slipped one place, racking up nearly $20m.
