An ‘unscripted’ Fallout Shelter TV show is in the works

Fallout Shelter is getting its own TV show, Bethesda has announced.

The studio also stated that Fallout Shelter is “the most popular way to experience Fallout on the go” in a note to players on its blog. The “unscripted” Fallout Shelter TV show is in development at Amazon, and follows on from the hugely successful Fallout show.

The new show’s ‘unscripted’ nature suggests it’ll be a reality-style TV project, possibly in the vein of Big Brother, which follows participants living in and managing their own Fallout shelter.

Bethesda also confirmed that Fallout Shelter has now clocked up more than 250m players worldwide. According to AppMagic, the game has been downloaded 97.5m times since its 2015 debut, and earned an estimated $137.7m in revenue.

62% of that has been generated by US players, even though they account for only around 33% of global downloads. The UK accounts for only around 5% of downloads but 12% of all revenue. AppMagic also estimates around 174,000 DAU, 842,000 MAU, with player sessions lasting around 18 minutes.

Back in March, publisher Bethesda quietly removed The Elder Scrolls: Blades from the App Store and Google Play. Its servers were shut down on June 30.
