The One Piece story has continued serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since July 18, 1997. Since then, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the story, has introduced quite a diverse cast of characters, and every few arcs, Oda especially highlights a Princess. To this day, Nefertari Vivi of Arabasta, the first princess to ever play a major role in the One Piece story and the one who probably started Oda's trend, remains the most popular. Vivi, who was officially introduced as an Arabasta Princess in One Piece Chapter 110 on October 25, 1999, is still recognized as an honorary Straw Hat Pirate and one of the best female characters.
