There are so many farming games out there now that I genuinely don't know how anyone is supposed to keep track of all of them anymore. Stardew Valley is still the one most fans of the genre probably talk about, and every year seems to bring another farming game that manages to break through and find a decent-sized audience of its own. Unfortunately, that also means plenty of really good ones come and go without getting anywhere near the amount of attention they probably deserved. A new farming sim can look great and review incredibly well, but if it launches at the wrong time or doesn't immediately catch on, it's pretty easy for everyone to move on without ever realizing what they missed.
