While I had recently invested in a new gaming PC for both work and leisure, the idea of a cute little box I could throw under my TV and use to play my Steam library with ease felt so exciting. This feeling was further spurred on by Valve’s promise that this hardware would bridge a gap between the desk and the living room. As someone who doesn’t like spending several hours hunched over their desk playing games after a day at work, this struck the perfect middle ground.
