Dungeons & Dragons has been publishing rules for other settings going way back, with Conan adventures in 1984 and Lankhmar – City of Adventure in 1985. Even further back in 1980, the first printing of Deities & Demigods included stats for gods from Michael Moorcock's Elric stories and H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos. It's even collaborated with Blizzard on a line of Diablo supplements to tie in with the release of Diablo 2.

So it's not too shocking that the first official Dungeons & Dragons crossover book released as part of its Universes Beyond line (borrowing the name from Magic: The Gathering, where crossovers have been big earners) will be about World of Warcraft. Especially since the news already leaked over the weekend.

The announcement was formalized at this year's Gen Con, where Wizards of the Coast put on a D&D Vision Keynote 2027 presented by Theo Solomon (who played Wyll in Baldur's Gate 3). We'll be getting a 256-page hardcover book with rules for 11 new species, 9 subclasses (6 of them new, 3 updated versions of existing characters), 50+ new monsters, 60+ new spells, 23 factions, 7 dungeons, 26 magic items including artifacts, and stat blocks for various popular characters from across Azeroth.

Which sounds like everything you need to play World of Warcraft with your friends in the absence of an internet connection. Preorders for the book open on July 30, and it'll be available in early access from November 3 and in wide release on November 17.
