In an unprecedented move, PlayStation has announced that it will cease producing physical game discs for all of its titles starting in January 2028. Following this date, every game shall only be sold digitally on both the PlayStation Store and in-person retailers. In addition, the digital PS3 and PS Vita storefronts will also begin shutting down later this year in select territories before reaching the entire globe before the end of 2027; a killer announcement to make as you also confirm you’re ditching physical media.
