When it launched for the PS3 in 2008, it was a cinematic epic years ahead of its time with stellar action, nuanced stealth, and a narrative drenched in years of melodramatic convolution that I couldn’t help but fall deeply in love with. It was my first game in the series and though I seldom understood what was happening, it was so well-executed and so ridiculous that I didn’t care.
