Manor Lords is on a roll—with the medieval management sim celebrating the monumental milestone of over 4 million copies sold across all stores. And to commemorate the good news comes its next major update.

The new Major Update 8 will add a bunch of new features and quality-of-life bumps to Manor Lords. Soon you'll be able to use apples to make cider, honey to make mead, and thresh easy-to-grow oats so you can feed both humans and livestock.

Speaking of, there's also the chance for players to become "a cow-herding mogul with the ability to breed and import bovine livestock" alongside the new benefit of being able to make little barns for your sheep to help them last through the cold winter months.

As an accomplished Manor Lords sheep farmer, this is music to my ears. I love my sheep more than I love the townsfolk I'm stuck with, so I'll gladly take advantage of any way to make their wooly lives a bit warmer and a lot more comfortable.

Other features include welcoming cheesemongers to the hamlet, who will "form the basis of a future cheese-related perk" (I'm going to start trading in charcuterie—just watch me). Alongside a new river map which is known as Wide Valley, "a verdant region ripe for lording over".

I've been looking for a reason to get back into Manor Lords for a while now. I didn't even fall out of love with it, I just felt as if my time managing the hamlet had run its course. But with all of this new content on the way, this may be exactly what I needed to spur on another medieval sim session.

It could also be an equally good time for those who've never checked Manor Lords out before, because it's also currently discounted on Steam thanks to a bunch of Hooded Horse bundles and one very generous Kingdom Come: Deliverance x Manor Lords bundle, with the game being 35% off for the next two weeks.
