Century Games has hired a host of top England and Brazil footballers – plus transfer influencer Fabrizio Romano – to promote Kingshot during the World Cup.
England footballers Harry Maguire, Michael Owen and John Terry are promoting the title to UK players, while Gabriel Jesus, Jorginho, Marquinhos and Thiago Silva appear to be targeting players in Brazil.
Top transfer influencer Fabrizio Romano is also promoting the game on TikTok and elsewhere in two different creatives.
We’ve pulled together some of the ads we’ve spotted thus far here:
Naturally Romano slips in his ‘here we go’ catchphrase as he enthusiastically delivers his script.
Former England footballers Maguire, Owen and Terry put in a more…workmanlike performance, while Brazilians Gabriel Jesus, Jorginho, Marquinhos and Thiago Silva bring a little more flair to their delivery. The Brazil players seem to have been hired to deliver the script in both Brazilian and English, and have all played for English or European clubs at some point in their careers.
Whiteout Survival maker Century Games appears to be pushing newer 4X strategy title Kingshot hard in recent months as it increasingly establishes itself in the top grossing charts.
As we’ve reported previously, advertising mobile games is a lucrative side hustle for celebrities and sportspeople.
Scopely has previously enlisted the likes of Will Ferrell, Chris Pratt, Jason Momoa and Keke Palmer to promote Monopoly Go, and perhaps most memorably Dream Games spent big to promote Royal Match follow-up Royal Kingdom in April 2025 with the help of LeBron James, Shakira, Jimmy Fallon and many others.
