This weekend's San Diego Comic-Con (July 23–July 26, 2026) was full of big news, with the new trailers for Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 and Blade Runner 2099 stirring a lot of discourse among fans of the franchises. Ridley Scott's original 1982 Blade Runner helped define modern cyberpunk cinema, and Denis Villeneuve's legacy sequel, Blade Runner 2049, is just as thoughtful, breathtaking, and emotionally resonant as its predecessor.
